Shirlene Kent Knowles

Spartanburg- Shirlene Kent Knowles, 79, wife of the late William Arnold “Billy Joe” Knowles died Sunday, August 5, 2012. Shirlene was born in West Point, Georgia, the daughter of the late William Reid and Mary Lee Oliver Kent. She was a homemaker. Shirlene was a member of Lanett Congregational Church, Lanett Alabama; however she attended Roebuck Baptist Church locally. She is survived by a daughter, Shirlee Sands and her husband Donald of Spartanburg, SC; three grandchildren, Stephanie Sands Smith, Donald W. Sands, Jeremy R. Sands; four great –grandchildren, Hannah L. Smith, Austin W. Smith, Lexi Sands, and Will Sands. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 7, at the Dunbar Funeral Home, from 6 to 8:00 PM. A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Oakwood Cemetery, Lanett, Alabama.
