Daniel Edward “Buster” Nelson

Boiling Springs, SC – Daniel Nelson, husband of Deana McCarter Nelson, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Gaffney, SC, Daniel was the son of Pamela Robinson Michaels and Doyle Edward Carter Jr. and the stepson of C. Dan Nelson. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Daniel was a graduate of Washington High School in Washington, NC. He faithfully served his country in the US Navy, and was an avid NASCAR and Clemson fan. In addition to his wife, Daniel is survived by; a daughter, Kayla Nelson; a sister, Erin Nelson Sacra and her husband, Kyle; a stepdaughter, Maleah Rae Alewine; a stepson, William Andrew “Drew” Alewine; two half-brothers, Jeremie and Matthew Carter; a stepbrother, Bryan Carter; a half-sister, Michelle Carter; a stepsister, Crystal Johnson; his grandparents, Charles and Mary West Nelson; and a granddaughter, Laila Nichole Kowalczyk. He was predeceased by a stepsister, Ashley Johnson. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, July 27, 2012 at Dunbar Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the Dunbar Funeral Home Chapel.
