Tampa, FL- Alfred Attal, 95, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, after a battle with bladder cancer on Friday, October 30, 2015.
Born June 21, 1920 in Paterson, NJ, Al was a son of the late Charles and Florence Attal. He was a graduate of Clifton High School, in Clifton, NJ, class of 1938. Al enjoyed bodybuilding at the Paterson YMCA for over 25 years and was an avid bowler for over 30 years. He started his career working in a foundry at Wright Aeronautical Corporation in Paterson, NJ, and later retired from the Continental Can Company in Paterson, NJ after 30 years of service as Chief Clerk in the Assembly Department.
Al married Mary Louise Blanton on February 8, 1958, the love of his life, and was predeceased by her on October 14, 2001. He retired in 1978 and he and Mary moved to Spartanburg, SC. After two years of retirement, Al started a new career in retail management. After a 12 year second career, Al retired for a second time. In 1999 Al and Mary relocated to Fleming Island, FL. to be closer to their son Bob. In April of 2014, Al moved to an assisted living facility in Tampa, FL to be closer to his sons Chuck and Brian.
He is survived by three sons, Bob Attal, Chuck Attal and his wife, Mary Beth Keegan, and Brian Attal and his wife, Pam; six grandchildren, Rachel Demers and her husband Michael, Matthew, Caitlin, Michael, Dylan, and David Attal; and great-granddaughter, Audrey Demers.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 6th, 5:00-7:00PM at Dunbar Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 7th, 10:00AM at Goucher Baptist Church Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Lynn Ford.
