Barbara Jean Roberts Brewer

Spartanburg, SC- Barbara Jean Roberts Brewer entered the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. Barbara was born April 11, 1927 in Philadelphia, PA to George Hawley and Katharine Tracy Hamilton Roberts. She was predeceased by her brother, George Hawley Roberts Jr. and his wife, Ellie Erickson Roberts. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, David Edward Brewer of Spartanburg, formerly of Preston, Cuba, Louisville Ky, and Pawleys Island, SC. She is also survived by her children, Katharine Elizabeth Brewer Sherwin (Elton) Menlo Park, CA, Elizabeth Ann Brewer Grimes (Frank) Spartanburg, and Thomas Andrew Brewer (Lisa,) Siler City, NC, and grandchildren, Robert O’Neill Grimes (Lauren,) Spartanburg, Anne Fitzgerald Grimes Webb (Frank,) Arlington, VA, Katharine Burns Sherwin, Menlo Park, CA and Elizabeth Buchanan Sherwin, Oakland, CA. Barbara was predeceased by her grandson, Patrick Hawley Grimes. She has five great-grandchildren: Francis Henry Webb, Paige Hawley Webb, Anna Kate Grimes, Caroline Elizabeth Grimes, and Lillian Blair Grimes. A memorial service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Spartanburg, on Tuesday, May 11th, 4:00PM. A private burial at All Saints Churchyard, Pawleys Island will occur at a later date.
