Beverly M. Mitro, a devoted mother, grandmother, and woman of remarkable faith and strength, passed away Monday, June 16, 2025 at the age of 85. She was born in Akron, OH on November 2, 1939, the only child of James A. and Laura E. Hutchinson.
Beverly worked in accounting throughout her career, most notably with Crowder Construction and many years with Willard Oil Company until her retirement. A long-time and faithful member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Beverly found great strength in her relationship with God. She was active in her church community—singing in the choir, serving on the Liturgy Committee, and participating in the Women’s Club and The Secular Franciscan Order. Her faith was the foundation of her life and sustained her through many challenges, including her courageous battle with cancer—she was a seven-time cancer survivor over the past 25 years.
She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life—quiet time with a good book, trips to the beach, and the comfort of her faith and loved ones. Since the passing of her husband, Fred T. Mitro, in 1987, she raised her daughters on her own with unwavering love and dedication. Her greatest joy came from being a mother and grandmother, and she cherished time spent with her family above all.
She is survived by her daughters, Lauri Mitro and Karen Meyer (Kevin), and grandsons, Patrick and Ryan Meyer.
A Rosary will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at St. Paul the Apostle Historic Catholic Church, 161 North Dean Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
