Beverly Kay Sheriff of Duncan, SC passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at the age of 86. She was born in Plainfield, NJ on January 20, 1940 to the late Charlotte and William Vance.
Beverly worked for many years as a devoted secretary and construction design consultant with A Sheriff & Sons and Mercedes Homes. She enjoyed helping families create their perfect homes and took pride in her work. Her faith in Jesus was at the center of her life. She was a faithful, active member of Joy Lutheran Church in Moore, SC and previously Emmaus Lutheran Church in Orange City, FL.
Beverly was strong-willed, independent, funny, and a little sassy. She had a warm and accepting spirit that made people feel welcome and loved. She was also creative and talented, with a love for art, music, theater, and sewing. More than anything, Beverly loved her family. She was a caring mother, grandmother, and the heart of her family. She loved cooking for those she loved and was often the glue that kept everyone connected.
She is survived by her children, Gary Sheriff (Lisa), Michael Sheriff, and Gayle Soles (Keith); grandchildren, Christopher Sheriff, Kyle Sheriff, Corey Sheriff, Michael Summersill, Matthew Summersill, Kelly Robinson, Anthony Radice, Michael Sheriff Jr, Nikki Carpenito, Dylan Sheriff, Trevar Soles, and Ashley Soles; her sister, Sandra Freyre; and 25 great-grandchildren. Beverly was predeceased by her brothers, William Vance and Tommy Vance.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Joy Lutheran Church, with memorial services at 11:00 AM, conducted by Rev. Mike Shackleford.
In memory of Beverly, contributions may be made to Joy Lutheran Church, 2153 E. Main Street Suite C-14 PMB 308, Duncan, SC 29334.
She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her strength, her kindness, and the love she shared with her family and friends. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew her.
