In loving memory of Carol Reiser Corson, who peacefully departed this world at her home on April 18, 2026, surrounded by her beloved family and the comforting embrace of the Holy Spirit.
Born on July 12, 1954, in Mobile, Alabama, Carol was a beacon of light and warmth to all who knew her. Carol was the cherished daughter of Herb and Joan Reiser. She was predeceased by her father, Herb, and her sister, Debbie, whom she loved dearly. Her spirit and legacy continue to live on through her devoted husband of 45 wonderful years, Steve Corson, and their beautiful family.
Carol and Steve's journey together began in Mobile, Alabama, where their love story unfolded, enriching each other's lives with shared dreams and cherished memories. A loving mother, Carol is survived by her children, Shelbe Lyda, Kristen Corson, and Jeremy Corson. Her nurturing presence and unwavering support were a constant source of strength and joy for her family. Carol's heart was further blessed with her son-in-law Brian Lyda and daughter-in-law Christina Corson. She also cherished her grandchildren, Steven, Jaxon, Henry, Trent and Tristen who brought boundless joy to her days. Carol is also survived by her mother, Joan Reiser, and her sisters, Christine Falls and Phyllis Reiser, who shared in her life's journey with laughter, love, and sisterly bonds.
Carol's professional life was as diverse as it was fulfilling. She brought dedication and compassion to her roles, whether as an administrative assistant at Spartan Mills, a constituent liaison for Congressman Bob Inglis, a fitness instructor at the Spartanburg Athletic Club, or her most recent position as Secretary at Jesus Our Risen Savior Catholic Church. Carol's commitment to her work was a testament to her integrity and passion for serving others.
A member of Jesus Our Risen Savior Catholic Church, Carol embodied the spirit of service through her role as the Liturgical Ministry Coordinator. Her volunteer work with Mobile Meals exemplified her selfless nature, as she tirelessly delivered meals and hope to those in need. Carol's faith was her guiding light, and she served Our Lord Jesus Christ with unwavering devotion and a heart full of love.
Beyond her professional and spiritual commitments, Carol found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved the beach, sitting with her toes in the beautiful white sand watching for dolphins and other sea creatures roam the waters. She was an avid traveler, exploring the open roads in an RV with her beloved Steve. Yet, above all, her family was her greatest passion, and she devoted her life to nurturing those closest to her. Carol's vibrant personality, characterized by her honesty, humor, and a laugh that could light up a room, will be profoundly missed. She was a loyal wife, a doting grandmother, and a friend whose candid wisdom and compassionate heart enriched the lives of many.
A service to celebrate Carol's remarkable life will be held on May 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Jesus Our Risen Savior Catholic Church, located at 2575 Reidville Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Adorno Fathers Foundation, at adornofathersfoundation.org, continuing Carol's legacy of giving and service.
Rest in peace, dear Carol, knowing you have left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing you. Your spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, wrapped in the eternal embrace of love and faith.
