Carolyn Ann Duffie

April 25, 1948 — April 5, 2026

Drayton, SC

Carolyn Ann Duffie, 77, of Drayton, SC passed away on April 5, 2026. She was born in New York, NY on April 25, 1948 to the late Henry Ostrowski and Catherine Sullivan.

Carolyn was a graduate of St. Helena High School Class of 1965. She was wonderfully social and always ready to welcome friends and neighbors into her home, where laughter, stories, and companionship were never in short supply.

She found great delight in life’s little pleasures, from working puzzles and testing her knowledge with trivia to enjoying a lively game of Scrabble. Carolyn also loved bowling, especially the bowling league she and Michael were members of for years.

Above all, Carolyn had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved cats. Sophie, her most recent companion, along with the many neighborhood cats she lovingly cared for, brought her endless joy and comfort. Her gentle kindness extended to all creatures, a reflection of the compassionate and tender heart she carried.

Carolyn will be remembered for her lively spirit, her welcoming nature, and the warmth she so freely shared with others. Her presence made the world a brighter place, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Ford (Joe) of Yorktown, VA; son, Patrick Raff of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Rebekka Rosales (Angelo), Dominique Raff (Pam), and Rachel Berner (Jared); and sister, Marian Fitzpatrick (Peter) of Flushing, NY. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Michael Duffie, and brother, Kenneth Ostrowski.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospitals or to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
