Carolyn Elders Morgan

Carolyn Elders Morgan, 84, of Spartanburg, SC passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born on February 22, 1942 to the late Floyd and Ethel Elders, she was married to Howard Morgan for 55 wonderful years until his passing earlier this year.

She was a wonderful seamstress, making clothes and taking care of alterations for many years. Carolyn loved her family deeply. She enjoyed fishing at Lake Hartwell with Howard and traveling with her sisters. She was also a Christian woman and long-time member of United Baptist Church.

Carolyn is survived by a son, Lewis Morgan (Terry); three grandchildren, Robbie Morgan, Lindsey McDonald (Grady), and Christopher Girardeau; and four great-grandchildren, Payton Carter, Skarlett Carter, Cheyenne Carter, and Arthur Girardeau. Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Randy Girardeau; three sisters, Shirley Naughton, Joan Crisp, and Lavina McGraw; and her brother, Butch Elders.

Graveside services will be 2:00PM on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens, 126 Fort Prince Road, Wellford, SC 29385, conducted by Rev. Robert Emory, Rev. Christopher Girardeau, and Rev. Grady McDonald.
