Daniel Maurice Rivera, 20, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, passed away on August 8, 2026. He was born on June 30, 2006, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to Alex Mauricio Rivera and Blanca Yesenia Rivera.
Daniel was known for his bright smile and the joy he brought to those around him. He was rarely caught without a smile. He deeply loved his family, especially his grandmother, Rosa Mendoza, who held a very special place in his heart.
Daniel attended Dorman High School. From a young age, he enjoyed playing soccer and continued to carry his love of the game with him. He also enjoyed playing games with his friends. He had a particular love for colognes. Above all, Daniel cherished the time he spent with his family and friends and the memories they created together.
Daniel is survived by his loving parents, Alex Mauricio Rivera and Blanca Yesenia Rivera; his brother, Alex Javier Rivera; his beloved girlfriend, Anaiyah Sangsanoy; his maternal grandmother, Rosa Mendoza and paternal grandmother Gloria Rivera.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jose Duran and his paternal grandfather Catarino Perez.
Daniel will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His beautiful smile, loving heart, and the joy he shared with others will remain forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 14, 2026, from 8:30am. to 10:30am. at J.M. Dunbar Funeral Home. A graveside service and burial will follow at 11:00am. at Good Shepherd Memorial Park.

Daniel era conocido por su hermosa sonrisa y la alegría que brindaba a quienes lo rodeaban. Rara vez se le veía sin una sonrisa. Amaba profundamente a su familia, especialmente a su abuela, Rosa Mendoza, quien ocupaba un lugar muy especial en su corazón.
Daniel asistió a Dorman High School. Desde muy joven disfrutó jugar al fútbol y llevó consigo ese amor por el deporte durante toda su vida. También le gustaba jugar videojuegos con sus amigos. Tenía un gusto especial por las fragancias y colonias. Por encima de todo, Daniel valoraba el tiempo que compartía con su familia y amigos, así como los recuerdos que juntos crearon.
Le sobreviven sus amorosos padres, Alex Mauricio Rivera y Blanca Yesenia Rivera; su hermano, Alex Javier Rivera; su querida novia, Anaiyah Sangsanoy; su abuela materna, Rosa Mendoza; y su abuela paterna, Gloria Rivera.
Fue precedido en la muerte por su abuelo materno, José Durán, y su abuelo paterno, Catarino Pérez.
Daniel será profundamente extrañado por todos los que lo conocieron y amaron. Su hermosa sonrisa, su corazón bondadoso y la alegría que compartió con los demás permanecerán para siempre en los corazones de su familia y amigos.
El velorio se llevará a cabo el viernes 14 de agosto de 2026, de 8:30 a. m. a 10:30 a. m., en J.M. Dunbar Funeral Home. El servicio junto a la tumba y el entierro se realizarán a las 11:00 a. m. en Good Shepherd Memorial Park.
