Deborah McCallister, 70, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, passed away on June 26, 2026.
Born on April 11, 1956, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of Glennie Thompson Owens (Nannie) and the late Charles William Owens. Deborah attended Spartanburg High School before pursuing her passion for beauty by attending cosmetology school. She went on to enjoy a career as a hairdresser, working at several salons throughout the Spartanburg area where she formed lasting friendships with both coworkers and clients.
Deborah had a joyful spirit and a love for life and for animals. She enjoyed music, singing karaoke, dancing, and cooking for family and friends. She especially cherished the time she spent with those she loved, creating memories through laughter, good food, and good times. She was known for her laugh and delicious cooking, with favorites including baked ziti, egg sammies, and most any dessert.
In addition to her mother, “Lil Deb” is survived by her loving husband, David Lancaster (Crockett); her son, Trae Judy (Brie); her beloved granddaughter, Ellison Judy; her sister, Pam Bryant; nephew, Heath Riddle, and niece, Deanna Riddle. Aunt Deb held a special place for many, including Jayce, Cash, Riddick, Joszaliegh, and Maya as well as all her friends at the Moonlight Tavern.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Victoria Judy, and her father, Charles William Owens; and Donald T. Davis, Nannie’s beloved husband, who was “Papa” to her for many years.
The family will receive friends from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at J.M. Dunbar Funeral Home, 690 Southport Road, Roebuck, SC 29376.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery, 1551 Bryant Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303. (Fairview Baptist Church)
A Celebration of Life will take place at Moonlight Tavern, 8160 Valley Falls Rd., Spartanburg, 29303 on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 starting at 5pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Attn: Shriners Children's, P.O. Box 947765, Atlanta, GA 30394.
