Diane Mattison Godfrey

Moore, SC- Diane Mattison Godfrey, 75, wife of Thomas E. Godfrey, passed from her earthly home into her eternal home on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

She was born January 10, 1947 in Spartanburg, SC to the late Brewster Copeland and Ruth Sherbert Mattison. She was married to Thomas Godfrey for 53 years.

Diane was a 1965 graduate of Dorman High School and a graduate of Spartanburg Technical College. She retired as an Executive Administrative Assistant from Milliken & Company after 38 years of service. Diane was a member of Church at the Mill.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a much loved grandson, John Garrett Jacobs; a brother and sister in-law, Wayne and Lynne Mattison, all of Spartanburg; two sisters in-law and one brother in-law, Jean Frady of McCalla, AL, and Harold and Ann Brock of Inman, SC; one aunt, Barbara Wright (Jack) of Inman, SC; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Diane was predeceased by her precious daughter, Kelli Godfrey Jacobs in 2018.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 2^nd, 2:00PM at Church at the Mill.
