Elma Louise "Shorty" Boniface

Spartanburg, SC- Elma Louise Griffis Boniface, 95, wife of the late Dr. John Francis Boniface, Jr., died Monday, June 21, 2021. Born February 9, 1926 in Edgefield, SC, Elma was a daughter of the late James Thomas and Ollie Corine Byrd Griffis. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Mrs. Boniface is survived by her children, Marie Boniface Duncan, Julie Boniface Lancaster and her husband, Rhett, John Thomas Boniface and his wife, Kathy, Patricia “Patty” Boniface Stinson and her husband, Steve, and Mary Boniface Mabry and her husband, Mark; eighteen grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Frances Boniface Cannon, and son in-law, Michael Duncan. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 24th, 10:00-10:45AM at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Funeral services will follow in the Parish Church at 11:00AM, officiated by Father David Whitman. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
