Gary Edward Ems

Gary Edward Ems, 67, of Lyman, SC passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 19, 1958 to the late Thomas and Geraldine Ems.

Gary was as an iron worker for over 40 years before retiring and was known as a hard-working and dependable man. He enjoyed tinkering with things, camping, and spending time around the water. He appreciated the simple things in life and enjoyed staying busy.

Most of all, Gary loved his family. He was devoted to them and especially enjoyed spending time playing with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his love, kindness, and the many good memories he shared with those closest to him.

Gary is survived by his wife, Sabra Ems; children, Cheri burns, Angela Ketchum, Daniel Ems, Megan Ainsworth Jobes Jimmy Gillum (Tristin), Edward Boyer, and Jessica Gillum; grandchildren, Dustin Gillum, Dylan Morrill, Aaron Morrill, Sabra Aarant, Bryson Morrill, Brendin Gillum, Dawson Gillum, Gabriella Gillum, Brendan Hadley, James Boyer, Liam burns, Ava Ems, Atlas Ems, Abel Ems ); and siblings, Stewart (John) Ems, Howard Ems Holly Wright and Dorthea Muffley, Along with his parents, his sister Georgene Ems Ems he was predeceased by a great-grandson, Elias.

The family will hold a private celebration of Gary’s life.
