Gordon Lee DePoint

October 18, 1953 — November 18, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, Papa, brother, and friend, Gordon Lee DePoint, who left us peacefully on November 18, 2025, in Pauline, South Carolina. Born on October 18, 1953, in Clifton Springs, New York, Gordon lived a life filled with love, joy, and gratitude for the simple pleasures that life had to offer.

Gordon was the son of Jacob DePoint and Mary Van Wyk DePoint, who preceded him in death. He was one of 16 siblings, and shared a particularly special connection with his brother Richard, who was not only a brother but also a cherished friend.

Gordon's enduring love story began over fifty years ago when he married his high school sweetheart, Patricia. Their union, which lasted 52 beautiful years, was a testament to their unwavering support and deep affection for one another. Together, they raised two wonderful children—Nathan Gordon DePoint (Becka) and Karissa Mary Khamsouk (Van)—who were a constant source of pride for Gordon, as were his grandchildren, Kaylani and Abel. Gordon's love for his dogs was evident, as they were cherished companions through his life's journey.

Gordon was known for his loving nature and selfless spirit. He was devoted to his family, always putting their needs before his own, and he found immense joy in supporting them. Friends and family alike knew him as loyal and giving, qualities that endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He had a genuine appreciation for the simple pleasures in life, whether that was a day full of family projects, playing a round of golf, watching sports, or enjoying the great outdoors while camping or visiting national parks and traveling around the globe.

Gordon’s legacy of love and support will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. He made a positive impact on so many lives and will be deeply missed by his beloved Patricia, his children Nathan and Karissa, his grandchildren, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Gordon's memory to the Duke Cancer Institute for ALK + research. Contributions can be sent to the following address:
