Gwendolyn Huckaby Longshore

Gwendolyn Huckaby Longshore, of Spartanburg, SC passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026 at the age of 92. She was born in Whitmire, SC on March 22,1934 to the late Lillian and James “Jim” Huckaby and was the widow of the late Ralph W. Longshore, Sr.

She was a dedicated department head with Sears for over 25 years before retiring. Gwen was also a devoted member of Roebuck Baptist Church, member of the Woodruff Shrine Club, and server with Mobile Meals for many years. Most of all, she was a deeply loving and kind soul whose impact was felt by everyone she met. Her love and legacy will continue through the family she raised, inspiring generations to come.

Gwen is survived by her sons, Ralph W. Longshore, Jr. (Doyla), Brad Longshore (Tammy), and Dan Longshore (Amy); grandchildren, Ralph Longshore III, Celeste Longshore, Langston Longshore, Kelly Clark Cisewski (Bryan), Andy Clark (Miranda), and Channing Young Jones; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Emma, Trint, Ryan, Rhys, Mackenzie, Eli, and Emily; nieces, Lynn Longshore and Carolyn Longshore Davis; and close friends, Mae Myers, Ms. Judy, Ms. Lou, Ms. Zellon(Don), Ms. Geri (daughter Kim) Lou Parris and Ronnie Hayes. Along with her parents and husband, Gwen was predeceased by her brothers, William “Bill” Huckaby, David Huckaby, Junior Huckaby; and granddaughter, Shannon Longshore Sheppard.

Services will be private.
