Harold Allen Garrett, Sr. of Roebuck, SC passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at the age of 91. He was born in Spartanburg, SC on November 30, 1933, to the late Loran Frederick and Pearly Jane (Miller) Garrett and was husband to the late Shirley Ann Garrett.
Harold proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for over 40 years as a textile supervisor at Phillip's Fibers, followed by 15 years as a stocker with Walmart. Harold was a quiet and hardworking gentleman, known for his generosity, determination, and strong-willed nature.
He loved watching sports, Elvis movies, and classic TV shows, but his greatest joy came from time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He never missed a softball game, school event, or a chance to take them swimming.
Harold is survived by his daughter, Kim Henderson (Craig); grandchildren, Michael Garrett (Amy), Christi Dunlap (Jeremy), Isaac Henderson (Sydney), and Michelle Garrett; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Reagan, Peyton, Harper, Paisley, Cane, Hali, and Hadley; and sisters, Carolyn Easler and Josie McKeown. Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Allen Garrett, and brothers, William “Dub” and Fred Garrett.
Visitation will be 10:00-10:45am on Monday, August 4, 2025, at J. M. Dunbar Funeral Home, 690 Southport Road, Roebuck, SC 29376. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am in the chapel, conducted by Gregory Dunlap. Burial with Military Honors will immediately follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local American Legion Post.
