Herman Banks Morgan Jr.

Herman “Sonny” B. Morgan, Jr., 79, of Spartanburg, S.C., passed away on January 28, 2026. He was born in Spartanburg County to the late Herman B. Morgan, Sr. and Ruth C. Morgan, and brother to the late Jerry Morgan. Sonny was a retired Army Veteran, former diesel mechanic, and of the Baptist faith.

To his friends and family, he was devoted family man - full of humor, laughter, and love. In the earlier years on his afternoons off, he could be seen fishing with his grandsons or enjoying a meal at Kenny’s Home Cooking. No matter where he went, he always found someone he knew and had stories to tell. Even through his trials in life, he said that he has lived a full and wonderful life.

He is survived by daughter Stacie Siegers of Woodruff, grandsons Tyler Siegers of Woodruff and Zachary (Mary Connor) Siegers of Spartanburg. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the South Carolina Community Cat Project or Speak for Animals.
