Moore, SC- Howard E. “Buddy” Cheatwood, 79, husband of the late Nancy Wingo Cheatwood, died Sunday, December 12, 2021.

Born February 3, 1942 in Spartanburg, SC, Buddy was a son of the late Howard Vernon and Grace Susie Steading Cheatwood. He was the owner and operator of Cheatwood Automotive for over 50 years and was a longtime member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Buddy is survived by nieces, Kathryn McCall (Mike), Jennifer Smith, Karen Wingo Hollifield, Tina Wingo Scales, and Lisa Roberson; nephews, Jimmy Cogdill, Donnie Wingo, Jeff Wingo, Michael Roberson, Ken Wingo, and Mark Wingo; great niece, Constance Wellman; great nephew, Buddy McCall; great-great nieces, Taylor Riser and Kathryn Wellman; great-great nephew, Matthew Cogdill; and sisters in-law, Cathy and Faye Wingo.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn Cogdill.

The family would like to thank Mike Bailey, who has been a longtime employee of Cheatwood Automotive since 1993, and Bonnie Whitt, a faithful caregiver, for their loyal support.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 16th, 2:00PM in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, officiated by Reverend Sal Barone.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
