Ina Cloer Reynolds

March 11, 1940 — April 8, 2026

Spartanburg,SC

Ina Louise Reynolds was born on March 11, 1940, in Morganton, North Carolina, to Robert Clay and Dorothy LaFevers Cloer. She was a proud graduate of Morganton High School, class of 1958, and Appalachian State Teachers College, class of 1962.

On July 15, 1962, she married James Robert (“Bob”) Reynolds. Together, they built a loving family and raised five children: James McKee, Ronald Clay, Sharon Lee (who passed in 1971), William Preston, and Lela Cloer. She was also a devoted grandmother to seven grandchildren: Madison, Brandon, Collin, Acadia, Orion, Vivian, and Evelyn. One of her most cherished memories was celebrating her 50th wedding anniversary with a family trip to Hawaii.

She maintained a close-knit circle of lifelong friends whom she considered family. Peggy, Tiger, Claire, and Hervie shared many joyful days with Ina, often searching for thoughtful and meaningful gifts that reflected their enduring friendship.

Ina dedicated many years to leading a Girl Scout troop, mentoring girls from their Brownie years through earning their Gold Award, and inspiring leadership, confidence, and growth in her daughter and countless other young women.

Ina was a founding and active member of the Trinity United Methodist Church Handbell Choir and a member of the Spartanburg Junior Women’s Club. She had a deep love for quilting, knitting, and needlepoint, and she ensured that each of her grandchildren received a special handmade quilt. She was also involved in several women’s groups at Trinity, where she shared her talents and friendships, helping to create beautiful needlepoint kneeling cushions that enriched the church community.

Ina lived a full and meaningful life, marked by moments of sorrow, joy, happiness, and, above all, love.
