James Elzie Cudd

James Elzie Cudd of Pauline, SC passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at the age of 84. He was born in Spartanburg, SC on October 9, 1941 to the late James Clyde and Mattie Outz Cudd.

After graduating from Spartanburg High School (Class of 1960), James enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He proudly served his country for seven years, 13 months of which he was stationed in Vietnam.

James moved back to Spartanburg in 1978, where he worked with Air Liquide America for 24 years before retiring. He was a long-time member of Calvary Episcopal Church. James loved reading, cooking and trying out new recipes, but most of all he loved his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, his high school sweetheart, Kathleen O. Cudd; his sons, Michael Cudd (Robyn) of Rock Hill, SC and J.C. Cudd (Kristen) of Hendersonville, TN; grandsons, Michael Harris Cudd and Robert Matthew Cudd (Julia); and brother, Robert Cudd (Sondra) of Reidville, SC.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Calvary Episcopal Church, with a reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
