James Carl Gamble

Spartanburg, SC- James Carl Gamble, 90, husband of the late Mary Herting Gamble, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born December 25, 1932 in Hickory Grove, SC, James was a son of the late Jamie and Suedell Roof Gamble. He honorably served his country in the US Airforce for 10 years and was of the Presbyterian faith. James attended the University of Maryland for police science and security training at the State Law Enforcement Division Academy in Columbia, SC. Mr. Gamble was a quiet man, who dearly loved his family.

He is survived by his sons, Richard Gamble (Linda) of Spartanburg, SC and Alan Gamble (Cheryl) of Inman, SC; a daughter, Terri Rankin (Daniel) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren, Rusty Gamble, Lori Martin, Christopher Gamble, and Mary Rankin; two great grandchildren, Azia Martin and Hunter Gamble; and a brother, Leonard Gamble.

In addition to his wife, James was predeceased by a brother, Jack Gamble.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, March 5^th, 2:00PM at Dunbar Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Richard Winston. The family will receive friends following the service.
