James Edward Sprinkle

James (Jim) Edward Sprinkle, Sr., widower of Jean E. Cummines Sprinkle, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the age of 83.

He is survived by his children: James E. Sprinkle Jr. (Lillian) of Miami, FL; Jason T. Sprinkle (Lea Ann) of Pauline, SC; and Melissa S. Lancaster (Britt) of Memphis, TN. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Austin, Matthew, Hannah Kate, Jensen, Logan, Carson, Cayden; Khai, and Kieyon, as well as great-grandchild, Lucy James Smith.

James was a member of the United States Air Force and Vietnam veteran, a faithful member of Walnut Grove Methodist Church and an active participant in Salkehatchie Summer Service and Emmaus. His passion for discipleship was well known , as he enjoyed working with and teaching young people how to build and repair homes for the underprivileged. A natural competitor, James had a long career in heavy equipment sales and service. He loved fishing, boating, and racing cars, though he humorously opted to "slow down" a bit in his later years by only racing quarter midgets and go-karts. Jim was known for his resilience, smile, humor and genuine care, always encouraging others to excel in their pursuits.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Walnut Grove Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 PM in the church, conducted by Rev. Chris Snellgrove. Interment will immediately follow the services in the Walnut Grove Methodist Church Cemetery.
