Janice Frye Burnette

Spartanburg, SC- Janice “Jan” Frye Burnette, 76, wife of Wallace Irye Burnette, went to be with the Lord peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, November 14, 2022 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. 

Born November 11, 1946 in Emporia, Kansas, Jan was the daughter of the late Leslie and Rilla Frye. She was a longtime member of Joy Lutheran Church in Moore, SC. 

Jan is survived by her sons, Brian Tucker (Joie) of Pauline, SC and Derek Sean (Tara) of Fair Play, SC; her daughter, Karen Horton(Daniel) of Spartanburg, SC; 8 grandchildren: Coleman Burnette(21), Erin Burnette(19), Jenna Burnette(13), Jaxon Burnette(17), Addison Burnette(14), Natalee Horton(13), Madalin Horton(10), and Nathaniel Horton(10); and two sisters, Judie Benedum of St. Louis, Missouri and Joyce Watts of West Palm Beach, Florida.  

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Joy Lutheran Church in Moore, SC. A memorial service with an interment of ashes immediately following will be held at 1:00 pm, and officiated by Pastor Lane Bembenek.
