Greer, SC- Joan Shannon Matthews, 49, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 after failing to recover from emergency abdominal surgery performed on March 31^st.

Born August 28, 1972 in Greenville, SC, she was a daughter of Walter Forrest Matthews, III and Blanche Casey Matthews.

In addition to her parents, Shannon is survived by her sisters, Lisa Matthews Boyles and Claire Matthews; and brothers, Jared Matthews and Bryan Johnson.

She was predeceased by a brother, Walter Forrest Matthews, IV.
