Joe S. Jenkins, 86, passed away peacefully March 21, 2024. He was the son of the late Robert M. Jenkins and Betty S. Crowley.
Joe is survived by his wife of 48 years, Donna J. Jenkins; daughter, Susan J. Jeffords (Loy); son, Stephen M. Jenkins (Vicki); and five grandchildren, Hollace Jeffords (Derek), Lawton Jeffords (Katy), Celia Jeffords, Madeleine Zych (Shayne), and Xavier Jenkins. He is also survived by brothers, E. Patrick Crowley (Cathy) and F. Michael Crowley (Peggy); sister-in-law, Joan F. Jenkins; and 16 nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, Robert M. Jenkins and James G. Crowley, Jr. (Jane), and stepfather, James G. Crowley, Sr.
A graduate of Spartanburg High School, Joe also attended Clemson University. He was the President and Owner of Joe S. Jenkins and Associates, and the former Plant Manager of Harley Bag Company.
He had a great love of the South Carolina coast, where he spent much of his youth and later years. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, where he had a passion for coaching youth basketball for many years.
The family would like to thank special friends, Cheryl and Tim Rop and Margaret Willard, for their loving care.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date when Joe will be laid to rest in the Columbarium at St. Paul's Catholic Church.
Memorials may be made in Joe's honor to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School, 152 Alabama Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
