Joyce Elizabeth Dill Smith

Moore, SC- Joyce Elizabeth Dill Smith, 82, wife of the late Harold Smith, died Sunday, February 13, 2022.

Born September 14, 1939 in Roebuck, SC, Joyce was the daughter of the late James “Jim” and Ella Pearson Dill. She was a graduate of Roebuck High School and worked in daycare for many years. Joyce was a former foster parent and a frequent volunteer at Palmetto Bible Camp. She was always an avid walker and enjoyed her long, daily walks outside with friends. Joyce was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and a member at Duncan Church of Christ.

Joyce was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was the cornerstone of her family, hosting gatherings in the home that her and her late husband built in the early 70’s.

She is survived by her children, Tim Smith and his wife, Sally, Jeff Smith and his wife, Freida, Traci Smith Helton and her husband, Paul, and Tony Smith and his wife, Nikki; 11 grand and 13 great grandchildren; Matthew Smith (Ashley) and their children, Hayden Killian and Mattalyn Smith; Katie Dupes (Del) and their children, Hayden Smith, Kable Dupes, and Shelby Dupes; Rachael McDowell (Kendrick); CPL Charles Smith; Amber Dobbins (Jonathan); Jennifer Reeves (Rob) and their children, Karington Reeves, Kassidy Reeves, Maddie Shaffer, Jackson Shaffer, and Jackson Reeves; Lauren Hensley (Ned) and their children, Corbin, Brooks, and Ava Hensley; Ethan Helton, Aaron Helton; Carter Smith; and Cooper Smith. Joyce is also survived by her sisters, Betty Dill Price, Shirley Dill Fore, and Kathy Dill Williams; she was the beloved aunt to many neices and nephews.

In addition to her husband of 44 years, who passed in 2001, she was predceased by a sister, Barbara Dill Heffner; brothers, James Dill, Jr., David Dill, Arthur Dill, Jack Dill, and Charles Dill.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, February 16th, 12:00Noon at Duncan Church of Christ.
