She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Arthur Lawrence Cummings Jr “Larry”; daughter, Hope Adair (Benji) of Mount Pleasant, SC; son, Arthur Lawrence Cummings, III “Trip” (Jodi) of Hollywood, SC; daughter, Kimberly Hood (Hugh) of Charleston, SC; and sister, Sylvia Sullivan of Spartanburg, SC. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Forrest Cummings, Elleson Adair, Sophie Adair, Savannah Cummings, Greyson Cummings, Hank Hood, and Harper Hood. Judy was a wonderful person whose love and kindness touched everyone around her. Her unwavering generosity was obvious in the countless ways she cared for others. Married to her devoted husband for 54 years, who affectionately referred to her as “Chick”, Judy built a remarkable family that was the center of her world. Each child and grandchild held a special place in her heart. Gigi, as she was known to her grandchildren, delighted in fulfilling their individual requests, particularly when it came to a favorite dessert.

Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family. Judy spent over 25 years pouring her heart into her students and fellow faculty as a Teacher’s Aide at Covenant Child Development Center. One of her great joys was crossing paths with former children and hearing their stories of growth and development into adulthood. Judy was a dedicated member of Southside Baptist Church for 75 years. Her passion for giving back was evident in everything she did. Judy cherished her church and considered her church family an integral part of her life, forming many wonderful relationships with fellow members, especially the Groovy Grans and the kitchen crew. Her commitment to serving others was unmatched and her kindness left a lasting impact on the church community.

Judy will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and Christian. She was an inspiration to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her and she will be greatly missed. Judy’s legacy of love and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
