June Sharpe Carswell

June Frances Sharpe Carswell of Spartanburg, SC went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at the age of 92. She was born in Waynesboro, GA to the late Julian Camby and Grace Sharpe.

She was a faithful member of Mount Calvary Presbyterian Church as long as she was physically able to attend.

June was married to Hugh Carswell, Sr. for 58 years before his death in 2008. She was primarily a homemaker raising three children, Hugh Carswell, Jr. (predeceased), Julian Wayne Carswell, Sr. (Jean) of Poplar Springs, and Dianne Carswell Edwards of Roebuck. She was known as “Junebug” by her grandchildren, Julian Carswell, Jr. (Kerry), Crystal Smith (Jason), Keri Trinidad (Israel), Zach Edwards (Deanna), and Adrienne Tate, and fourteen beloved grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5:00-5:45pm on Thursday, July 30, 2026 in J. M. Dunbar Funeral Home, 690 Southport Road, Roebuck, SC 29376. Funeral services will follow at 6:00pm, conducted by Rev. Richard Thomas.

Graveside services will be 11:00am on Friday, July 31, 2026 in Hillcrest Gardens, 2700 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, GA 30906.
