Kathryn Mack DuBeau

March 18, 1954 — October 31, 2021

Our beloved Kathryn “Kathy” Mack DuBeau left this earth after a brief but difficult battle with cancer. A fighter until the end, she passed away on October 31st, 2021, at the age of 67, in her hometown of Spartanburg, SC, surrounded by loved ones. Life threw Kathy many medical issues over the past few years, which she fought hard against and defied all odds, demonstrating her courage and will to survive. Despite the pain, Kathy stayed strong until the end. She was born to the late Jarrett David and Barbara Thomas Mack on March 18th, 1954, in Spartanburg, SC. Soon after high school, she married the love of her life, Michael “Mike” DuBeau. Together they had two children, Amy and Laura. Together, as a family, they traveled the world and lived adventures many only dream about. She did so while supporting our country and her husband as a military wife while Mike served for 25 years in the United States Air Force. Kathy and Mike moved back to Spartanburg in 2000 to be closer to their parents. Kathy loved being a wife, mother to her two girls and sweet dog Bellah, grandmother to her five grandchildren, sister to her two sisters, and a friend to many spanning across the globe. She had a smile that lit up the room as soon as she walked in. All admired her caring, loving, and nurturing personality. Even in the days following her passing, the outpouring of love and consistent theme of Kathy being the kindest person they had ever met was further evidence kindheartedness and unconditional love overflowed from her spirit. Kathy is survived by her husband of 48 years, Michael “Mike” DuBeau, of Spartanburg, SC; her two daughters, Amy DuBeau Somers (Bryan) of Spartanburg, SC, and Laura DuBeau Sanchez (Raul) of Bristow, Virginia; three granddaughters, River and Brooke Wood and Adele Sanchez; two grandsons, Brandon Somers and William "Liam" Sanchez; two sisters, Susan Mack Harman (Doug) and Judy Mack Brinkley; and many nieces and nephews. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Graveside services in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens will be announced at a later date. In remembrance of Kathryn, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
