Kay Frances Greene

Kay Frances Greene of Spartanburg, SC passed away January 4, 2026 at the age of 87. She was born September 19, 1938 to the late William “Ralph” and Ruby Catherine Taylor Smith.

She was the widow of Alvin Wade Greene, who passed in 2017. Kay was a devoted member of Bethel Baptist Church in Prosperity, SC and a caring nurse for many years. She will be remembered for her Christ-like love of all she encountered and her generous heart.

Kay is survived by her children, Eddie Greene (Jessica), Karen Tolleson, Phylliss Greene (Brandon), and Wanda Levister (Tony); eight grandchildren, Wade Greene, Nicole Greene, Michelle Dill (Todd), Trey Justice (Julia), Eve Levister, Monica Levister, David Tolleson (Kacie), and Brandon Tolleson; brothers, John Smith and Rollie Smith; fifteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her grandson, Matthew Bailey, brother, Carrol Smith, and sisters, Pat Dillard, Judy Collier, and Linda Avakian.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 7, 2026 in Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery, 3119 Highway 56, Pauline, SC 29374, conducted by Rev. John Smith.
