Kenneth Eugene Madden, 89, of Moore, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025.
Born in January 1936 in Aurora, IL, Kenneth was a 1953 graduate of East Aurora High School. He went on to attend the University of Missouri for two years before returning home, where he married the love of his life, Ila Fern Madden. Together, they shared 69 years of marriage and built a life rooted in love, family, and faith.
Kenneth dedicated 35 years of service as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service, Branch 219, before retiring and relocating to Spartanburg, SC. He was a devoted Christian and choir member of First Baptist Church and was known for his steady kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering commitment to his loved ones.
He is survived by his wife, Ila Fern Madden; his children, Rebecca “Becky” Madden, Wendy Swanson (Larry), and Gary Madden; and his brothers, Richard Madden (Glenda) and Robert “Bob” Madden.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 16th, at The J.M. Dunbar Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Westwood Memorial Gardens.
Kenneth’s life was a testament to dedication, humility, and heart. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
