Lynn Alexander Culp

Apr 25, 1949 — Jul 30, 2026

Spartanburg, SC

Lynn Alexander Culp, 77, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, beloved wife of Craig C. Culp went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

Born in Simpsonville, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Milton Otho (M.O.) Alexander and Francis Marion Hatchett. Lynn graduated from Erskine College in 1971 with a degree in Education before settling in Spartanburg, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and service.

Lynn dedicated 30 years to teaching, spending her entire career at W. Herbert Chapman Elementary School. Through her kindness, patience, and commitment, she touched the lives of countless students and families. A longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, her faith was a guiding force throughout her life.

While she found much fulfillment in teaching, Lynn's greatest joy was her family. Just twenty days shy of their 54th wedding anniversary, she shared a lifetime of love and happiness with her devoted husband, Craig. Known affectionately as “Mema” to her grandchildren, being a grandmother was one of her life’s richest blessings. She created a legacy of warmth, laughter, and unconditional love for her family. Her life reflected the words of Proverbs 31:28: “Her children arise and call her blessed.”

She treasured family beach vacations, holiday celebrations, and the simple pleasures of shared meals and conversations with friends and family. She took special pride in her beautifully decorated home, where pineapples, a symbol she loved, were a familiar touch. Friends and family alike were always welcomed with warmth and hospitality.

In addition to her dear husband, Craig C. Culp, she is survived by her cherished daughters, Claire Culp Ollinger (Christian) of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Caroline Culp Huddleston (David Lane Huddleston, Jr.) of Greenville, South Carolina; her dearly loved grandchildren, Alexander Ollinger, Clay Ollinger, David Lane “Chip” Huddleston III, and Harrison Huddleston; her sister, Mary McGuire (David) of Aiken, South Carolina; and her nephews, Davey McGuire, Joey McGuire, and Drew Alexander.

A private burial will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens prior to the funeral service.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 626 Norwood Street, Spartanburg, South Carolina 29302. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary prior to the service.
