Lynn Hastings Fields

January 3, 1956 — September 10, 2023

Lynn Hastings Fields, 67, died at her home in Moore, SC in the arms of her husband, Chuck Fields, with their daughter, Stevie Fields, at her side.

Lynn was born on January 3, 1956, in Spartanburg, SC and was the daughter of Jake Reid Hastings and Louise Coleman Hastings. Along with her husband & daughter, she was survived by her sister, Carol Taylor (Paul) and her brother, Mike Hastings (Sally). She graduated from Dorman High School in 1973 and Stratford Women’s College in 1974. After college, Lynn began her career in the fashion/modeling industry. Lynn opened Take Two Modeling in 1978 and the L.H. Fields Group/Fields Model Management/Fields Salon in 1991, both finding great success in discovering, developing, and placing models all over the world. From 1997-2001 she was a model scout and in charge of model development at Arlene Wilson Models in Atlanta, GA.

And while it is true she enjoyed seeing many of her models “make it” in the business, her greatest satisfaction came from helping others have confidence in themselves and living up to their potential.

Lynn saw success differently than most in the business; Success to her wasn’t just being beautiful enough to be on a magazine cover; real success was helping others see that they mattered, no matter their outward appearance.

Her next career was in real estate at Better Homes and Gardens, where she would again help others see that they mattered. To Lynn it was never just about selling a house; it was about helping others find a new home.  Making a client happy was far more important than making a sale.

Before retiring in 2015, Lynn began volunteering at Carolina Pregnancy Center where she served as a counselor.  In her ten plus years of counseling, Lynn often shared her testimony of the grace God had shown her, and the tender ways He had worked in her life.  The trials she had walked through, with God’s strength, helped her connect with those in a crisis pregnancy. She helped them see that although their circumstances seemed hopeless, God desired to write a beautiful story through their life.  Countless babies were born because Lynn helped many people see how much God loved them, and the great plans He had for the precious lives that were growing inside their bodies.

Lynn was a member and a vibrant servant at Hope Point Church. For many years during the Christmas season, she blessed numerous families within the penal system through the church’s partnership with Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree.  Her radiant smile often greeted visitors at the welcome table and her gift of hospitality brought joy to the small group that met in her home each week.

Lynn’s love for God was evident to all who knew her, as was her love for family & friends.

With great courage and unwavering hope in Jesus her savior, she fought a fierce battle with pancreatic cancer for 18 months.  She continually prayed to be healed, but trusted God completely with His answer.  At 2:00 a.m. on September 11, 2023, God perfectly healed Lynn as He welcomed her to heaven, and to the home He had lovingly prepared for her.

Services for Lynn will be held on Monday, September 18th, 2023, 11:00 AM at Hope Point Church. The family will receive friends following at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Lynn may be made to the Carolina Pregnancy Center, PO Box 5364, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
