Spartanburg, SC- Malcolm Jones Caldwell, 69, husband of Bronwyn Cudd Caldwell, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 25, 2022 at his home.

Born June 19, 1953 in Glendale, CA, Malcolm was the son of the late Rufus Jones Caldwell and Rose Marie Best Caldwell. He was a graduate and lifelong supporter of Wofford College and Clemson University, where he received his Master’s of Education. Malcolm was a teacher at heart and served his community as an educator, assistant principal, principal, and track and football coach. The years he spent with District 3 yielded him great friendships and a place he always called home.

Malcolm was a passionate weight and power lifter and a skillful woodworker throughout his life. Malcolm was well known for his “gift of gab”, his familiar stories and good jokes, and his 1985 pickup truck that he loyally drove all these years.

In addition to his beloved wife, Bronwyn, he is survived by his daughter, Erin Marie Caldwell and her son, Corin Jones Caldwell, who he loved so dearly; his sister, Carol Finn (Peter); a step brother, Randy Snapp; a cousin, who was close like a brother, Jan Caldwell; and many cousins, nieces,  nephews, and lifelong friends.

A Celebration of his life will be be held Sunday, January 22nd, beginning at 4:00PM at Dunbar Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the "Florence Moore Scholarship Fund."
