Margie O'Dell Franklin

Greer, SC- Margie O’Dell Franklin, 97, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021. Born January 25, 1924 in Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Miller Houston and Hettie Lucile Dutton Suggs. Margie was employed with Spartanburg Sportswear as a seamstress and supervisor for many years. She was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Margie is survived by her daughter, Belinda Bell; son, Ronnie Allen; step daughters, Susan Hallman, Janice Cross, and Tina Hamilton; eight grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Sue Stripling. She was predeceased by her first husband, Donald Allen; former husband, Thomas J. Franklin; a step daughter, Wanda Doyle; two brothers; and three sisters. The family will receive friends Monday, March 29th, 6-8PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 30th, 2:30PM at Dunbar Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Frankie Taylor. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
