Moore, SC

Mary Linda Colaluca of Moore, SC passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at the age of 70. She was born in Greenville, SC on June 28, 1956 to the late Leonard and Beunice Phillips Shockley.

Linda was a graduate of Greenville Technical College and spent more than 40 years working as a contract specialist with Jacobs Engineering, formerly Lockwood Greene & Co., where she was known for her excellent work and dedication.

As a young woman, Linda enjoyed playing in golf tournaments, and she never lost her love of having fun. She loved to dance, whether ballroom dancing or dancing around the house, especially when “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars came on. Linda also loved going out to see bands perform live and enjoying the lively atmosphere.

She found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, including tending to her garden, watching birds, and sipping coffee on her patio. Her home was her happy place, where she could read, relax, and enjoy the things she loved most.

Linda also cherished time with her many friends, especially girls’ nights with her beloved “Golden Girls” and trips to the Biltmore Estate. Family vacations were among her favorite memories, particularly their trip to Cancun. She had a special place in her heart for her family and her beloved cat, Toby.

Linda was kind, bubbly, and always ready for a good laugh. A true social butterfly, she loved being around people and had a gift for making ordinary moments more fun. She brought a special kind of energy to every gathering, and her cheerful personality made her a wonderful friend and companion. With her charming, lighthearted ways and her ability to find joy in the little things, Linda made life brighter for those around her. She will be remembered with smiles, laughter, and many fond memories by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Roree Colaluca (James Sims); stepson, Craig Colaluca (Elizabeth); step-grandchild, Carson Colaluca; and siblings, Frank Shockley (Helen) and Peggy Shockley.

In memory of Linda and her love of cats and dogs, contributions may be made to Spartanburg Humane Society or Greenville Humane Society.
