Mary Goodwin Davis

Mary G. Davis, 103, of 4860 Victoria Ave., North Charleston died peacefully on March 22, 2023 at The Palmettos after a period of declining health.

Born in Olar, SC, she was the daughter of Robert F. And Zelma R. Goodwin and was a 1936 graduate of Olar High School. Mary worked at the Port of Embarkation, Liberty Homes and later was the church secretary at North Charleston United Methodist Church where she was a longtime member.

In addition to being an avid reader, one of her greatest enjoyments was a decades-long participation in Ballroom dancing, highlighted by many exciting trips and cruises.

Mary was predeceased by her parents; and a sister, Daisy G. McDaniel Parrish. Surviving are nephews, Sydney F. McDaniel and Robert G. McDaniel; niece, Kimberly P. Kenney; and numerous grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at Mizpah Methodist Church in Olar at a later date.
