Mary Wilkes Miller Pettit

Mary Wilkes Miller Pettit of Spartanburg, SC passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at the age of 83. She was born in Roebuck, SC on October 10, 1942 to the late Vivian Graham and Martin Palmer Miller and was the widow of John Wayne Pettit.

A 1960 graduate of Fairforest High School, Mary attended Cecil Business College. She spent most of her life caring for her home and family. She cherished her grandchildren and loved sharing about their achievements with anyone who would listen. Mary was a long-time member of Mount Calvary Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. As an accomplished Southern cook, Mary enjoyed cooking for others and sharing her favorite recipes in the church cookbook.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Lori Anne Morrow (Chris) and Pam P. Gregory (Rick); grandchildren, Graham Morrow, John Morrow (Haley), Martin Morrow (Allison), and Samantha Gregory; and sister, Sue Martin (Billy).

A heartfelt thank you to the staff at White Oak North Grove for their attention and care given to Mary. The family will be forever grateful.

Visitation will be 10:00-10:45AM on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Mount Calvary Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00AM, conducted by Rev. Richard Thomas. Burial in the church cemetery will immediately follow.
