Mary "LuAnn" Sawyer

Mary “LuAnn” Sawyer of Spartanburg, SC passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at the age of 53. She was born in Columbus, GA on April 2, 1972 to Ann M. King and the late Lucius M. King, Jr.

A graduate of Dorman High School, LuAnn dedicated more than 20 years of service to School District 6. She loved spending time at the beach, especially at Folly Beach, relaxing and watching sea turtles. LuAnn will be remembered for her sweet spirit, quiet strength, and dependable nature. She was a devoted friend and a loving, generous person who made others feel cared for and valued, and her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her.

LuAnn is survived by her sons, John Martin Sawyer and Alexander Ray Sawyer, and sister, Julia King Weeks (Stephen).

Memorial services will be 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at J. M. Dunbar Funeral Home & Crematory, 690 Southport Road, Roebuck, SC 29376. The family will receive friends following the service.
