Mary Frances Tucker Waddell, 89, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026.

Born on March 11, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Tucker and Maude Tucker.

She was the devoted wife of the late Charles Leon Waddell, with whom she shared 64 wonderful years of marriage.

Mary was a loving and kind-hearted woman whose greatest gift was making everyone feel like family. Although she never had biological children of her own, she lovingly embraced those around her, becoming a mother figure to many throughout her life. Her love, encouragement, and unwavering support left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

She was predeceased by her siblings Bobby Tucker, Dorothy Hughes and Debra McDowell.

She is survived by nieces and nephews by Kathy Brown (Michael), Tracy Tucker-Babb (Mark-predeceased), Anna Harrelson (John-predeceased), Daniel McDowell (Joni) and Haleigh McDowell (Ryan); great nieces and nephews, Adam, Aaron (Dylan), Hunter, Adam, Taylor, Carter, Blakely, Kinsley, Brynley and Finnleigh, along with her special great niece, Isla and numerous extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was predeceased by nephew Chris McDowell. She is survived by her special in-laws Betty Tucker, Ralph and Marlene Waddell.

Mary had a joyful spirit and a wonderful sense of humor that could brighten any room. She loved all things Disney and looked forward to spending Christmas in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, creating treasured memories. Summer was her favorite season, and she enjoyed every opportunity to soak in its warmth and beauty. Mary was an accomplished basketball player for Cross Anchor High School, a sport she continued to enjoy throughout her life.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Megan Williams for the exceptional love, compassion, and special care she provided to Mary.

Above all, Mary will be remembered for her generous heart, infectious laughter, and the unconditional love she freely gave to everyone, fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to live on in the many lives she touched.

A graveside service honoring Mary's life will be July 17, 2026 at 11:00am at Heritage Memorial Gardens.
