Michael William Coker, 67, born February 24, 1959, born in Gaffney, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 25th, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, reliability, and community spirit. He was the beloved son of Sarah and the late Raymond Coker Sr
Michael was a devoted member of Friendship Baptist Church in Lyman, where his faith and fellowship were an important part of his life. He was known by many for his deep love of the fire department and his strong sense of duty to others.
A dedicated employee of Prisma Health Hospital, Michael was respected for his strong work ethic and dependability. He took pride in always being on time—something friends and family came to admire and expect of him.
In his personal time, Michael was an avid CB radio enthusiast, known on the airwaves by his handle “Cocomo.” Through this passion, he formed lasting friendships and connections with people near and far.
Michael will be remembered for his steady presence, kind heart, and the many ways he showed up for those around him.
Michael is survived by his mother, Sarah Coker; family members, Ray L. Coker III, Ryan L. Coker, Bradley M. Coker, Leah C. Gowan, Amberle G. Dillard and Matthew C. Gowan; nine great- nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 29th at 3:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Lyman.
