Miriam P. Bowen, 92, passed away on March 22, 2025. She was the daughter of Rembert and Grace Powell.
Miriam is survived by her husband of 63 years, George W. Bowen; three daughters, Beth Ward (Steve Rice), Ginger Bowen, and Jane Orders (Randy); four grandchildren, Grace Graves (Luke), Hudson Orders (Caitlyn), Bowen Orders, and Heather McCraw (Greyson); three great-grandchildren, Hampton Graves, Haiden Graves, and Ruffin Orders; and sister, Anne Stevens (Albert).
Miriam, also known as Mimi, was a long-time faithful, active, loyal member of Cedar Spring Baptist Church. She served on many committees and was former Director of Senior Activities.
Visitation will be 12:00-12:45pm on Friday, March 28, 2025 at Cedar Spring Baptist Church, 140 Cedar Springs Place, Spartanburg, SC 29302. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm in the church, conducted by Rev. Todd Lowe. Interment in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens will immediately follow the services.
Miriam has moved into her new home. Jesus said he had gone on before to prepare a place so that where he is, Miriam can be also. She will not have any more falls, broken bones, headaches, or pain. She is in the presence of God, rejoicing in God’s heavenly garden, where the flowers must be in full bloom all year. Miriam was very strong in her faith and loved the Lord. The time for Miriam’s departure came on Saturday. She fought the good fight; she finished the race and kept the faith.
