Myrtle Smith Holt

Myrtle Smith Holt, 96, died February 5, 2026, after a long illness. The daughter of the late William Edgar and Malissie Wyatt Smith, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Holt was predeceased by her husband, Elmer E. Holt, Sr., her son, E. Eldon Holt, Jr., and granddaughter, Mallory Holt.

Mrs. Holt is survived by her daughter, Elaine Holt of Spartanburg and her son, Lamar Holt of Woodruff, and the following beloved: Amelia C. Holt, Josef Lorenz, Julia and Scott Barnstead, seven great grandchildren: David, Mia, Alex, Matt, Lexi, Emma and Lucas; daughter-in-law, Vallerie Holt of Cayce, SC and step-granddaughter, Jenny Dixon (Jimmy) of Columbia, SC.

A visitation will be on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Dunbar Funeral Home followed by a service at 1:00 PM in the Chapel at Dunbar Funeral Home. Burial will be in Buck Creek Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to a charity of one's choice.
