Nicholas James Cartolano

Nicholas James Cartolano of Inman, SC passed away September 18, 2026. He was born April 9, 1931 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY, where he spent his years growing up.

He never met a stranger, always ready with a friendly greeting and a welcoming conversation. He was the very best father a daughter could ever have.

Nicholas loved the hustle and bustle of New York City, where he worked most of his life. He had a remarkable career with the New York Telephone Company for many years and worked his was to the top in Verizon later on.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Antionette (DePaola) Cartolano; his mother, Josephine (Petrucci) Cartolano; his father James (Giacomo) Cartolano; his sister, Marie Cartolano; and his twin brother, Pasquale (Patty) Cartolano. Nicholas is survived by his daughter, Patrice Ann (Cartolano) Anthony; his son-in-law, Rodger William Anthony; his nieces, Jodi Cartolano, Lisa Cartolano, and Glenda Cartolano; and his long-time companion, Rose Waterman.

Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 in J. M. Dunbar Funeral Home, 690 Southport Road, Roebuck, SC 29376. Memorial services will follow in the chapel at 3:00 PM.
