Nora Mae Hollifield

Nora Mae Hollifield of Moore, SC passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at the age of 93. She was born in Spartanburg, SC on January 16, 1933 to the late Lillie Mae and Horace Hollifield.

A graduate of Spartanburg High School, Nora retired after 36 years of dedicated service as an administrative professional with the South Carolina Department of Transportation. A woman of deep faith, Nora dearly loved Southport Baptist Church and was a devoted member of its choir.

Nora loved tending her garden, watching birds, traveling to new places, getting her hair done at Cindy Bishop’s Beauty Salon, and spending quiet hours with a good book. One of her greatest companions was her beloved and loyal dog, Peppy, who brought her much happiness and comfort through the years.

She is survived by her nephew, Kevin Lee Hollifield (Lynn); great-nieces, Elizabeth Ann Pearson (Phillip), Sara Nicole Fresenius (Albert), and Tracie Brewington Dixon (Alan); great-nephew, Jeff Brewington (Candy); great-great-nieces, Katherine and Reagan Pearson; and six great-great-nephews and nieces. Nora also leaves behind her beloved friends, Jean and Bobby Sprouse and the ladies of Southport Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her brother, Leroy Hollifield; niece, Kathy Brewington; boyfriend, JL; and great-great-niece, Angie Elise Pearson.

Visitation will be 10:00-11:30am on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at J. M. Dunbar Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 12:00pm in Sunset Memorial Park.
