Owen Kenneth Woolever

June 29, 1962 — May 30, 2024

Pauline, SC

Without fear or doubt and surrounded by his loving family, Owen Woolever (61), joined his Savior in heaven on Thursday, May 30th, 2024. Born in Norwalk, OH on June 29th, 1962, he was the son of the late Kenneth Ray and Joanne Mitchell Woolever.

To know Owen was to love Owen. He was kind, loving, humble, generous, and selfless. Owen was full of love for Jesus and others, full of encouragement and help, and full of joy and laughter. He quietly radiated the love of Christ that he soaked up during his morning Bible study. Owen always put others before himself and the world will not be the same without him.

Growing up, Owen could be found playing basketball, football, and running with his friends. After high school, Owen served his country in the Navy. Owen received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy and met his wife at the Medical University of South Carolina. He was a servant leader and co-owner of Austin Rehab of Union, a physical therapy clinic where he loved his co-workers and patients alike. Owen could often be found mountain biking, cheering on the Ohio State and Wofford College football teams, creating things for their house, and spending time with his family and friends. Owen was a loving and proud husband, son, father, Opie, and friend.

Owen will forever be missed by his loving wife of 34 years, Jeanne Azzara Woolever; son, Zachary Aaron Woolever (Lauren) of Spartanburg, SC; daughter, Amanda Marie Woolever Shelton (Mac) of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Ella and Zoey Woolever; and sisters, Marci Koppelmaa and Nita Kromer (Gregg). Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Lois Woolever and brother-in-law, Hank Koppelmaa.
