Patricia Wyatt Connor

April 19, 1935 — April 11, 2021

Patricia Ann Connor (85) – of Spartanburg, SC entered Heaven on April 11, 2021 surrounded by her family. Although she absolutely loved life and being with her family, she would frequently remind everyone “when I pass away, it will be the happiest day of my life because I will get to meet my Jesus.” Undoubtedly, she will be missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Connor was known to her family and friends by numerous terms of endearment, including “Nannoo,” “Granny,” “Grandmother,” “Old-lady,” and simply, “Pat.” She was loved by everyone that she encountered and never met a stranger. All around Spartanburg, her nickname “Granny” is resonant, as she wasn’t only “Granny” to her grandchildren. Her love of children and animals is unimaginable. Nannoo was an extremely well-rounded individual, having gained experience in numerous areas of life. She was able to offer advice and guidance to anyone with her unique stories and experiences. During her youth, she was employed by Woolworth Dime Store and later at Summit Hills as a caregiver. She was unofficially employed at “Pat’s Kitchen,” where she thoroughly enjoyed cooking up a Sunday feast, especially her Mac and Cheese Pie and Meat Loaf. Granny’s love for Jesus is second to none. From being a gospel singer during in her early days to listening to her favorite pastor on television, she always sought reassurance and guidance during difficult times through her faith. She was a long-time member of Whitney Free Will Baptist and Turning Point Free Will Baptist churches. Survivors include her husband of 70 years Richard Connor; two sisters: Jeane Dotson (Carole Dotson – Deceased) and Pam Tessneer (Troy Tessneer – Deceased); two sons: Eric (Jayne) and Mark Connor; one daughter Greta Green (Greg); Grandchildren: Jonathan and Lindsey Green, Angie Connor, Luke Connor, and Amanda Cleapor (Josh); Greatgrandchildren: Dylan and Brooklyn Stewart. Logan Lemmons, and Avery Lane; Great greatgrandchild: Tripp Lemmons. Numerous nieces and nephews: Stephanie Dotson, Pattie Licurs (Paul), Shelby Licurs (Zack), Aleah Wyatt, Jackson Wyatt; and her beloved fur baby, “Lil’ Bit.” Special family friends Bobby Crisp, Irene Foster, Ricky Foster, Joshua Millwood. She will be greeted in Heaven by her Son, Rev. Richard David Connor (Survivor - Phyllis); Mother: Anne Johnson; Father: Walter Wyatt; Brother: Jimmie Wyatt; and Blake Wyatt (Survivor - Luci). Sister: Gloria. Special family friends: Charlie Weaver, Pete and Marlene Solsebee, and James Foster A special thanks to the caring staff at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home and Spartanburg Medical Center, especially Dr. Cutshall, for their loving demeanor and respect during her time of illness. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the family respectfully requests a private grieving process but would like to honor her glorious legacy by asking her family and friends to consider posting a happy memory to her “online” guest book for her upcoming birthday. Her memory will live on forever. “I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck!”
