Patricia McGuinn Oxley

Spartanburg, SC, Patricia McGuinn Oxley, lovingly known as Pat, age 94, died peacefully at home Tuesday, February 17, 2026 after an extended illness. Pat was the oldest daughter of the late Michael Edward and Margaret Shackelford McGuinn. She was married in 1952 to Edwin James Oxley, who predeceased her in 1980.

A graduate of Spartanburg High School, Pat went on to attend Winthrop College, majoring in Home Economics. She later worked with Clemson Extension as a program assistant in the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program(EFNEP), a job she thoroughly enjoyed for over 25 years.

She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church and served in many areas.

Pat is survived by her son, Jamie and his wife Merri of Rutherfordton, NC and daughter Karen of Spartanburg.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, sister and their spouses. She was the last surviving member of her family.

A graveside service will be held March 12, 2026 at twelve o’clock in the afternoon at Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Road, Spartanburg, SC, conducted by Reverend Rachel Klopmaker.

The family will receive friends following the service.
