Rachel Gowan Martin

Spartanburg, SC- Rachel Gowan Martin, 78, wife of Trent Martin, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023.

Born March 3, 1945 in Spartanburg, SC, Rachel was a daughter of the late Otis Arthur Gowan and Mary Alberta Smith Gowan. She was a longtime member of Pacolet Mills Baptist Church since 1970.

In addition to her husband, Trent, she is survived by her daughters, Christy M. Goodman (Mike) of Woodruff, SC, Candie M. Vassey (Chris) of Woodruff, SC, and Billie M. McKelvey of Spartanburg, SC; and grandchildren, David McKelvey, Lanie Treadwell, Christopher Vassey, Ashley McKelvey, and Lorri Treadwell.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Cindy M. Treadwell in Spartanburg, SC; and brothers, Jerry, Frankie, Jim, Donald and Joe Gowan.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 6th, 11:00AM until 12:30PM at Pacolet Mills Baptist Church.

Services will begin in the sanctuary at 12:30PM, officiated by Reverend Frank Taylor and Reverend Norman Band.
